Artist's Comments

Ok before I start, let me apologise, I have no scanner so this is a photograph of the drawing taken at the only angle I could use without having the flashlight reflect back off the paper! It's also not 100% finished yet so give it a week or two and if Santa visits ;) then I'll post up scan... See WIPs here: [link] and here: [link]

Not since the Mustang concept back in 2004/5 have I stopped open mouthed and just thought - oh yeah, they got that spot on!
The new 2010 Camaro looks awesome, and this version seen at the LA motor show recently just made me smile even more.
Imagine your garage with one of these parked next to a black '69 copo or a Z28.....:) :)

After seeing photos of it on the net, I just had to draw it...
Like I said, not finished just yet but close.
The usual stuff:

A3 smooth Bristol Board
2H thru to 9B pencils
0.3 0.5 0.7 mechanical pencils
Putty eraser, cotton wool, cotton buds (q-tips)
Blending stumps
Oh and a first for me, white gel pen for highlights and a dash of red colour pencils for the lights!

Don't usually use colour as I've never found a medium I'm happy with but this just cried out for a touch of red like the photo so I had a go - could have been better as could the blending which gets less accurate the larger the drawing.

If at first you don't succeed, use more duct tape

Now that is one sharp car,I can see why you wanted to draw it!!! and it looks fantastic, the color really adds to it.How did the gel pen work for you,did you like the way it went down over the pencil?
